
This will be Coach Ben's second season with the Arlington Forest Tigers. Coach Ben grew up in Lancaster Pennsylvania. He began swimming with his summer swim league when he was seven and continued to swim until he finished college. He specialized in butterfly and sprint freestyle events. Ben began coaching during the summer after his senior year of high school and has been coaching ever since; this will be his eleventh summer coaching. He graduated with honors from York College of Pennsylvania with a degree in elementary education and works as a second grade teacher in Fairfax County Public Schools. Ben is also the head coach for the Langley High School swim team.

Julie returns to AFC as an Assistant Head Coach for her 7th year. She began swimming at the Warren, PA YMCA at the age of 10 and continued swimming for Warren Area High School as a teenager. At Slippery Rock University, she was an All Conference swimmer specializing in distance freestyle. After graduating from Slippery Rock, she continued her love for swimming with the DC and the Arlington Masters teams for the past 20+ years, including a strong finish in the Bay Bridge Swim in 1993. She is a USSA certified coach and has taught many of the Arlington Forest swimmers the four strokes as a coach for the Arlington Aquatic Club Mini Gators and Mega Gators teams. She has three children who are following in her swimming footsteps on the AFC team. Julie currently home schools her two of her children and proudly supports her son, Eric, who is a US Marine.
